Etsitty is a fictional town in the northern Vermithia region, created for world-building and speculative fiction. It sits along the Silver River, with foothills and mixed forests in the surrounding countryside. The population is estimated at about 24,000 residents.

Etymology: The name is drawn from the local Serri language, with ets- meaning water and -itty a place suffix, effectively “water-place.”

History: Etsitty began in the late 18th century as a trading post near river crossings. It grew with river trade and later with rail connections in the 19th century. The town diversified in the 20th century, developing timber, processing industries, and services, while maintaining a center around the river and mills.

Geography and climate: The climate is temperate with four distinct seasons. The area receives moderate rainfall, supporting forests and agriculture.

Economy: The economy centers on timber processing, agro-processing, small electronics, and tourism. The presence of Etsitty Heavy Industries and a regional university campus anchors employment and contributes to the local tax base.

Culture and society: Civic life includes River Day and the Autumn Lantern Festival. The community is bilingual, with a local Etsitan culture and a common lingua franca; local crafts include weaving and pottery.
