Etioloka is a fictional city and administrative center in the northern province of Veridia, within the broader fictional realm of Veridia. It serves as the regional capital and is known for its preserved historic core, a riverine setting, and a diversified economy. As of 2023, the city proper has an estimated population of about 142,000 people.

Geography and layout

Etioloka lies along the Mist River, about 60 kilometers inland from the coast. The surrounding landscape features low hills, orchards, and small farms. The climate is temperate, with mild summers and cool winters. The historic core is concentrated near the river, with newer districts spreading outward along arterial roads and the rail line.

History

Its origins trace to a market settlement established in the 12th century. A charter granted in 1224 formalized its status as a town and promoted regional trade. The city prospered as a trading hub, endured the impacts of regional conflicts in the late Middle Ages, and rebuilt during the Renaissance. In the modern era, Etioloka diversified into manufacturing, logistics, and education, shaping its contemporary economy.
