Eszközhatározóját

Eszközhatározóját is a form that appears in discussions of Hungarian grammar to denote the definite direct object of the noun eszközhatározó, i.e., the instrumental modifier. Eszközhatározó, or instrumental modifier, is the grammatical category used for phrases that indicate the means or instrument by which an action is performed. In Hungarian these modifiers are typically realized by noun phrases in instrumental form, for example with the suffixes -val/-vel or -ral/-re, or with corresponding adverbial constructions. The definite singular accusative form eszközhatározóját is used when the instrument modifier is treated as a specific, identifiable element within the sentence and thus appears in the object's position.

Morphology and usage are central to the concept. The instrument expressed by an eszközhatározó answers the question mivel? or hogyan? and often accompanies the verb to specify how the action is carried out. For example, az eszközhatározóját can occur as the object of a verb in sentences like “A tanár megnevezte az eszközhatározóját,” illustrating its role as a definite object.
