Erzeugungs

Erzeugungs is not a standalone concept but the bound stem of Erzeugung, the German noun for generation or production. It is mainly used in compounds to refer to aspects of creation or supply, particularly in energy-related contexts. In technical language, Erzeugungs is encountered in a range of terms describing outputs, capacities, facilities and data associated with generation.

Common examples are Erzeugungsleistung (the amount of energy generated, i.e., generation output or capacity), Erzeugungsanlage (a generation facility such as a power plant), Erzeugungsdaten (generation data, for example by source and time) and Erzeugungsstruktur (the structure or mix of generation sources). The form often appears with a linking -s- in complex compounds, for example Erzeugungsseite (generation side) or Erzeugungsquoten (shares of total generation). In energy market and grid operation contexts, the Erzeugungsseite is analyzed alongside the Verbraucherseite (demand side) to assess supply security and market balances.

Etymologically, Erzeugungs comes from Erzeugung plus the usual compound-forming suffix, reflecting German practice of forming technical terms by concatenation without spaces.
