Erdemelk

Erdemelk is a historic mansion located in Hungary, built in the 18th century. Situated in Budakeszi, a town in Pest county, Erdemelk was constructed by György Erdődy, a Hungarian nobleman. The mansion's name is derived from the Hungarian words "erdő", meaning forest, and "melk", referring to a type of estate.

Erdemelk is considered an important example of Late Baroque architecture in Hungary. The mansion underwent several renovations and expansions, primarily in the 18th and early 19th centuries. It features a symmetrical structure with a central front, adorned with ornate stonework and decorative window surrounds. The interior includes a spacious hall with high ceilings, supported by elegant columns.

Throughout its history, Erdemelk has been a family residence for members of the Erdődy family, and later it was used as a summer house by aristocrats visiting the Hungarian countryside. In the 20th century, the estate underwent significant transformations, including the loss of its extensive parkland and farmland. Today, Erdemelk is no longer privately owned, and its current status remains uncertain.
