Equivalentsprevisualization is a term used to describe a practice in film, animation, and media production that seeks to establish an informationally equivalent representation of a final shot through previs materials. The idea is to create previs content—such as storyboards, animatics, 3D previs, or virtual production previews—that conveys the same blocking, camera moves, timing, and spatial relationships as the eventual shot, enabling early planning and cross-disciplinary review.
