Epäsymmetriä

Epäsymmetriä refers to a lack of symmetry in Finnish. It describes a situation where an object, figure, or system does not exhibit mirror symmetry or rotational symmetry. In essence, if you were to divide something into two parts, those parts would not be identical or mirror images of each other. This concept can be applied across various fields, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and even art and biology.

In mathematics, epäsymmetriä might be observed in geometric shapes that do not have equal halves or identical arrangements when rotated. For instance, a scalene triangle is epäsymmetrinen because all its sides and angles are different.
