Endkappen

Endkappen are closures fitted to the ends of hollow cylindrical objects such as tubes, rods, or extrusion profiles. Their primary purpose is to seal and protect the end surfaces, prevent ingress of dust, moisture, and contaminants, and provide a finished appearance. Endkappen also help to reduce the risk of injuries from sharp edges and can contribute to electrical insulation or minor sealing in some applications.

Endkappen come in a variety of forms and materials. They can be push-in, slip-on, screw-on, or pressed-in, and are typically made from plastics (for example PVC, PA, or polypropylene), elastomers (such as EPDM or silicone), metals (like aluminum or stainless steel), or composite materials. The choice of material depends on factors such as environmental exposure, temperature, UV resistance, chemical compatibility, and required grip or retention. Sizes must match the inner diameter of the tube or profile, and some endkappen are designed for easy removal while others are intended for permanent installation.

Typical applications include furniture components, machinery and equipment housings, architectural and construction profiles, and automotive or bicycle hardware. In modular profile systems, endkappen are often snapped or pressed into the ends of extruded profiles and may be secured with adhesive or mechanical features.
