Ellenállásérzékel is a Hungarian term that translates to "resistance sensor" in English. It refers to any device or component designed to measure or detect changes in electrical resistance. These changes can be caused by various physical phenomena, making resistance sensors versatile tools in many applications.

The fundamental principle behind most resistance sensors is that certain materials exhibit a change in their electrical resistance when exposed to specific environmental factors. For example, thermistors are resistance sensors whose resistance changes significantly with temperature. Metal oxide semiconductors can also be used as gas sensors, where their resistance varies depending on the concentration of certain gases in the surrounding atmosphere. Strain gauges are another common type of resistance sensor, employing a thin wire or foil whose resistance changes when it is stretched or compressed due to applied mechanical stress.

The output of a resistance sensor is typically a change in voltage or current, which can then be measured by electronic circuitry.
