Elektroniikkasuihkukäsittely, often referred to by its English name electron beam curing, is a technique used for rapidly curing or hardening certain materials, particularly coatings and inks. This process utilizes a high-energy electron beam to initiate a polymerization reaction within the material. Unlike traditional heat-curing methods, electron beam curing is a low-temperature process, making it suitable for heat-sensitive substrates.

The core of the electron beam curing system is an electron gun that generates a stream of electrons. These electrons are then accelerated to high speeds and directed onto the surface of the material to be treated. When the energetic electrons interact with the molecules in the coating or ink, they break chemical bonds and create free radicals. These free radicals then quickly initiate a chain reaction, causing the molecules to link together and form a solid, cross-linked polymer network.
