eKönyvformátumok refer to the various file formats used for digital books. These formats dictate how the text, images, and other elements of a book are stored and displayed on electronic reading devices and software. The choice of format often depends on the intended use, the device being used, and the features desired, such as reflowable text or fixed layouts.

One of the most common ebook formats is EPUB (Electronic Publication). EPUB is an open standard and is widely supported by many e-readers and software applications. It is designed to be reflowable, meaning the text adjusts to fit the screen size of the device, making it suitable for a wide range of devices.

Another prevalent format is MOBI, which was developed by Mobipocket and later acquired by Amazon. MOBI files are primarily used on Amazon Kindle devices and applications. While also supporting reflowable text, MOBI has some proprietary aspects compared to EPUB.

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a universal document format that can also be used for ebooks. PDFs preserve the exact layout of a document, including fonts, images, and formatting, as they appear on the printed page. This makes them ideal for visually rich content like magazines or academic papers where layout is critical, but they are not as adaptable for reading on small screens as reflowable formats.

Other formats exist, such as AZW, which is Amazon's proprietary format for Kindle ebooks, and TXT, a simple plain text format that lacks formatting options but is universally compatible. The selection of an appropriate ebook format ensures compatibility with the user's reading device and the desired reading experience.
