Edgecutting

Edgecutting refers to a manufacturing process used to create precise cuts in materials, often thin sheets of metal, plastic, or composite. The technique involves a focused beam of energy, typically a laser or water jet, that impinges upon the material's surface. This energy source is guided along a programmed path, allowing for intricate shapes and complex geometries to be produced with high accuracy.

The primary advantage of edgecutting is its non-contact nature. Unlike traditional cutting methods that rely on physical blades or tools, edgecutting minimizes material distortion and stress. This is particularly beneficial for delicate or brittle materials.
