EdV

EDV is an acronym that can refer to several concepts depending on the context.

In computing and information technology, particularly in German-speaking regions, EDV stands for Elektronische Datenverarbeitung, literally electronic data processing. Historically, the term described the use of computers and automated data-handling systems within organizations, including mainframes and later personal computers. While largely superseded in everyday language by information technology (IT), EDV remains encountered in historical documents, education, and certain institutions with long-standing usage of the term.

In medicine, EDV commonly denotes end-diastolic volume, the volume of blood in a ventricle at the end of diastole.
