Dörrsystems

Dörrsystem is a Swedish term for the set of components that form doors in buildings. A dörrsystem typically includes the door leaf, frame, hinges, locks, door closers, weatherstripping, thresholds, and any glass panels, as well as automated mechanisms when present.

Door systems are categorized by how they open and are controlled. Manual systems require human operation; automatic systems use sensors and actuators to open and close. Common configurations include hinged doors, sliding doors (including pocket and bypass variants), revolving doors, and folding doors. Automatic systems may operate standalone or be integrated with access control, alarms, and building management systems.

They are designed to meet security, accessibility, energy efficiency, and, where applicable, fire ratings. In Europe, automated doors are often governed by safety standards such as EN 16005, while fire doors may conform to EN 1634 and related regulations.

Proper alignment, sealing, and sensor calibration are essential for function and safety. Regular maintenance, inspection of hardware, and adherence to local building codes are important for performance and compliance.
