Dyesubstitution

Dyesubstitution is a term often encountered in the context of digital image processing and graphics. It refers to the technique of replacing one color in an image with another. This can be achieved through various algorithms and methods, depending on the desired outcome and the complexity of the image.

In its simplest form, dyesubstitution might involve a direct replacement of a specific color value. For example, all pixels with RGB values of (255, 0, 0) (red) could be changed to (0, 255, 0) (green). However, real-world images rarely contain perfectly uniform color blocks. Therefore, more sophisticated approaches often consider a range of colors, or a target color and its variations.

More advanced dyesubstitution techniques might use color spaces other than RGB, such as HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) or HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value), to perform more intuitive replacements. For instance, changing the hue of an object while preserving its saturation and lightness can result in a more natural color shift.
