Duktiivisuus
Duktiivisuus is a theoretical concept in certain philosophical traditions, particularly those exploring the nature of knowledge and belief. It refers to a process of reasoning or a mental state where an individual holds a belief or proposition to be true because it is perceived to be a logical consequence of other beliefs or propositions that are themselves accepted as true. This is distinct from deductive reasoning, where a conclusion is guaranteed to be true if the premises are true. In duktiivisuus, while the belief is considered highly probable or strongly supported by the underlying premises, it is not necessarily a certainty.
The term is sometimes used to describe a form of inductive reasoning, but with a specific emphasis
The concept can be applied to everyday reasoning, where people often operate with a degree of certainty
