Dosimetriseen is the Finnish term for dosimetry, the science and practice of measuring, calculating, and assessing the doses of ionizing radiation absorbed by matter, especially the human body. It is a core discipline within radiation protection, radiology, and nuclear medicine, providing the quantitative basis for evaluating exposure risks and optimizing therapeutic regimens.

The field of dosimetriseen developed in parallel with the discovery of radioactivity in the late 19th century. Early measurements relied on photographic plates and ionization chambers, but the 20th century brought advances such as Geiger–Müller counters, semiconductor dosimeters, and thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLDs).
