Etymology and taxonomy. The name doseeringus is constructed from Latin roots intended to evoke dosing or delivery, paired with a typical taxonomic suffix. In most fictional accounts, Doseeringus is placed within a crustacean-like lineage, though exact classification varies across sources and is not meant to reflect real biology.

Description. Individual doseeringus individuals range from 0.5 to 2 millimeters in length. They have a semi-transparent body, a small carapace or shield, several pairs of antennae, and a segmented abdomen.
