Donard
Donard, commonly referred to as Slieve Donard, is the highest peak in Northern Ireland. It rises to about 850 metres (2,795 feet) and forms the southern end of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, near the town of Newcastle. The mountain is primarily composed of granite from the Mourne Granite batholith, and its upper slopes present a rounded summit with exposed rock and heathland.
