Diterima

Diterima is an Indonesian word that generally means “received” or “admitted.” It is the passive participle form of terima (to receive) and is used to indicate that something has been received by someone or that a person has been accepted into a program, institution, or event.

Grammatically, diterima is formed with the passive prefix di-, which marks the action as being received by an unspecified agent. It can function as a verb or as an adjective in a sentence. The action can be expressed as completed with auxiliary words such as telah or sudah. When the agent is specified, it can be introduced with oleh: “Proposal itu telah diterima oleh komite.”

Diterima appears in a variety of contexts, including tangible objects and abstract statuses. Examples include: “Surat itu telah diterima di kantor pos” (The letter has been received at the post office), “Saya diterima di universitas X” (I have been admitted to University X), and “Permohonan diterima untuk diproses lebih lanjut” (The application has been received for further processing).
