Dispositionsbeliefs, also known as latent beliefs or implicit attitudes, refer to unconscious or subconscious associations that individuals hold towards certain groups, concepts, or objects. These beliefs are distinct from explicitly held beliefs, which are consciously acknowledged and can be easily articulated. Dispositionsbeliefs are formed through a lifetime of experiences, cultural conditioning, and repeated exposure to certain stimuli. They operate automatically and can influence an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without their conscious awareness.

These subconscious associations can be both positive and negative. For example, a person may have a positive dispositionbelief towards a particular nationality due to positive personal experiences or positive media portrayals. Conversely, negative dispositionbeliefs can arise from stereotypes, prejudice, or historical biases. These implicit attitudes are not necessarily indicative of a person's conscious intentions or values.
