Diskektomie, also known as discectomy, is a surgical procedure aimed at relieving pressure on the spinal cord or nerves caused by a herniated or bulging disc. This condition, known as a herniated disc or slipped disc, occurs when the soft inner portion of the intervertebral disc protrudes through a tear in the outer layer, potentially compressing nearby nerves.
