Didelidlike

Didelidlike is a term used to describe a resemblance to didelids, which are marsupials belonging to the order Didelphimorphia. This order includes the opossums and their close relatives. Animals described as didelidlike often share certain physical characteristics with these marsupials. These characteristics can include a long, prehensile tail, a pointed snout, and a generally small to medium size. They may also exhibit nocturnal or crepuscular activity patterns, and a diet that is omnivorous or insectivorous, much like many didelid species.

The term is generally used in a descriptive rather than a strict taxonomic sense. It might be applied to animals that are not actually didelids but possess a superficial similarity.
