Dialóguskezelés, or dialogue management, is a subfield of artificial intelligence and natural language processing that focuses on the process of controlling and understanding conversations. It is a crucial component in building conversational agents, chatbots, and virtual assistants that can engage in coherent and meaningful interactions with humans. The primary goal of dialogue management is to track the state of the conversation, understand user intents, and generate appropriate responses that move the dialogue forward towards a desired outcome.

A dialogue management system typically involves several key stages. First, it needs to process the user's input, which includes tasks like speech recognition (if the input is spoken) and natural language understanding (NLU) to extract meaning and intent. The NLU component identifies what the user wants to achieve or what information they are seeking. Following understanding, the dialogue manager uses the extracted intent and the current conversational context to decide on the next action. This action could be to ask for clarification, retrieve information from a knowledge base, or perform a specific task. This decision-making process is often guided by a dialogue policy, which can be rule-based or learned through machine learning. Finally, the system generates a response, which is then converted into natural language (NLG) and presented to the user, either as text or synthesized speech. Effective dialogue management ensures that the conversation flows logically, remains relevant, and helps the user achieve their goals efficiently.
