Dialogsystemen, also known as conversational AI or chatbots, are computer programs designed to simulate human conversation. They utilize natural language processing (NLP) to understand and interpret user input, and natural language generation (NLG) to formulate responses. The primary goal of a dialog system is to facilitate interaction between humans and machines in a natural and intuitive way.

These systems can be broadly categorized into rule-based and AI-based (or machine learning-based) approaches. Rule-based systems follow pre-defined scripts and decision trees, making them suitable for specific, well-defined tasks. They can automate repetitive tasks, provide instant support, and offer personalized experiences.
