Detektorvalen
Detektorvalen refers to the annual event in Sweden where the public votes to determine the best detective or crime fiction book of the year. Organized by the Swedish Crime Writers’ Association (*Detektivförbundet*), the event has been held since 2002 and is one of the most prestigious literary awards in Swedish crime fiction. The term "Detektorvalen" is a playful blend of "detective" (*detektiv*) and "val" (Swedish for "election"), reflecting the competitive and participatory nature of the selection process.
Each year, a shortlist of up to ten books is announced, selected by a panel of judges.
