Desmostylians
Desmostylians are an extinct order of large, herbivorous marine mammals that lived from the Paleocene to the middle Miocene, roughly 56 to 20 million years ago. They occupied coastal and estuarine environments in the North Pacific and surrounding regions, including parts of North America and Asia. They are among the earliest large marine herbivores known from the fossil record.
