Descrártalos
Descrártalos is a Spanish coined term that literally translates to “unstrap the rocks.” The word first appeared in the early 1990s as the name of a collaborative art project that combined plein‑air painting, free‑form sculpture, and community performances in the limestone cliffs of Andalucía. The initiative was organized by a group of regional artists, architects, and environmentalists who sought to give new life to abandoned quarry sites by using them as open galleries. The name reflects both the physical act of removing protective coverings from exposed stone and the metaphorical process of exposing hidden narratives within traditional landscapes.
