Cunégondas
Cunégondas is a character in Voltaire's satirical novella "Candide." She is the daughter of Baron Thunder-ten-tronckh and Baroness Jacqueline, and thus the object of Candide's affections. Cunégondas is portrayed as a beautiful and accomplished young woman, whose privileged upbringing is abruptly shattered by the devastating events that unfold in the story.
