Cryptosomatida
Cryptosomatida is a proposed phylum of parasitic eukaryotes. The name derives from Greek words meaning "hidden body." This taxonomic group was initially suggested based on morphological and genetic data suggesting a distinct lineage within the eukaryotes, separate from other known phyla like Apicomplexa and Microsporidia. Members of Cryptosomatida are believed to infect a wide range of host organisms, including invertebrates and vertebrates. Their life cycles are complex and often involve multiple stages and hosts, characteristic of many parasitic organisms.
