Chronograf

Chronograf is a web-based user interface that serves as the administrative and visualization layer for the InfluxData TICK stack. It provides a graphical environment for exploring time-series data stored in InfluxDB, configuring data sources, building dashboards, and managing alerts and users. Chronograf is designed to work with InfluxDB and Telegraf, and historically with Kapacitor for alerting, offering a centralized place to monitor health, performance, and trends of systems that emit time-series data.

The main features include a query editor and visualizations, such as line charts, heat maps, and gauges; dashboard authoring and templating; management of organizations, users, and access control; and an alerting workflow that can be linked to Kapacitor. It can import and export dashboards as JSON, and supports provisioning dashboards through templates.

Chronograf is part of the TICK stack, a collection of components from InfluxData for collecting, storing, visualizing, and acting on time-series data. In recent releases of InfluxDB, InfluxData has introduced a newer integrated UI for InfluxDB 2.x, and Chronograf's role is often described as serving legacy deployments or niche use cases. Chronograf remains an open-source project with ongoing community and ecosystem contributions.
