Chondrome
Chondrome is a benign (non-cancerous) tumor that arises from cartilage-producing cells, known as chondrocytes. These tumors are typically found in the bones, most commonly in the hands and feet. While chondromas are benign, they can sometimes cause local pain or discomfort due to their size or location, and may rarely lead to pathological fractures if the bone becomes weakened.
There are two main types of chondromas: enchondromas and periosteal chondromas. Enchondromas develop within the medullary
Diagnosis of a chondrome is usually made through imaging studies such as X-rays, CT scans, or MRI.
