Chloropsis

Chloropsis is a genus of small to medium-sized passerine birds in the family Chloropseidae, commonly known as leafbirds. Members of the genus are characterized by predominantly green plumage, often with contrasting markings on the head, throat, or wings. They are distributed across tropical Asia, from the Indian subcontinent through Southeast Asia to parts of the Malay Archipelago. They inhabit forests and woodland, occasionally visiting gardens and plantations.

They typically occur in pairs or small family groups and are known for their vocalizations, which include melodic calls and chirps. Breeding involves the construction of cup-shaped nests in trees; both parents participate in incubation and chick care, with courtship displays observed in some species.
