Chilenses refers to a group of individuals who were born in Chile but later emigrated to other countries, often seeking better economic opportunities, education, or to escape political instability. The term is a blend of "Chile" and "immigrants," reflecting their dual cultural identity as both Chilean and members of their adopted communities.

Chilean emigration has historical roots, with waves of migration occurring during periods of economic hardship, such as the 1930s Great Depression and the 1973–1990 military dictatorship under Augusto Pinochet. Many chilenses settled in neighboring Argentina, Spain, and the United States, while others dispersed to Canada, Australia, and Europe.
