Cheiloplastic

Cheiloplastic refers to surgical procedures performed on the lips. These operations are typically undertaken to correct congenital deformities, repair injuries, or improve the aesthetic appearance of the lips.

One of the most common cheiloplastic procedures is the repair of a cleft lip. A cleft lip is a birth defect where the upper lip does not form properly, resulting in a separation. The goal of reconstruction is to restore both the form and function of the lips, enabling essential activities like eating and speaking. This type of surgery often involves intricate tissue manipulation and grafting.
