CenterTapGleic is a term that combines "Center Tap" and "Gleichrichter," the German word for "rectifier." It refers to a specific configuration in electrical engineering, particularly in power supply designs involving transformers and rectifiers.

In a center-tapped configuration, a transformer has a tap at the center of its secondary winding. This tap provides a common reference point, often ground, for the circuit. The center tap allows the secondary winding to be divided into two equal parts, each producing half of the total voltage. This setup is commonly used in full-wave rectifier circuits to convert alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC).

The term "Gleichrichter" indicates that the configuration is used in conjunction with a rectifier. In a full-wave center-tapped rectifier, two diodes are used, each connected to one half of the secondary winding. During the positive half-cycle of the AC input, one diode conducts, and during the negative half-cycle, the other diode conducts.
