Carneades
Carneades of Cyrene (c. 214–129 BCE) was an ancient Greek philosopher and a leading figure of the Platonic Academy. Born in Cyrene (in present-day Libya), he studied in Athens and became a prominent member of the Academic school, contributing to its development into the skeptical phase known as Academic Skepticism. He is often remembered as one of the most effective dialecticians of his era and for his role as head of the Academy.
