Campbelltörpehörcsögök, scientifically known as *Phodopus campbelli*, are a species of dwarf hamster native to the steppes of Central Asia, particularly in regions of Mongolia and northern China. These small rodents are popular as pets due to their generally docile nature and manageable size. They are social animals in their natural habitat and can often be kept in compatible pairs or small groups, though introductions should be carefully managed to prevent conflict.

Physically, Campbell's dwarf hamsters are characterized by their compact bodies, short tails, and rounded ears. Their fur typically comes in a variety of natural and bred colors, with the most common being the agouti pattern, resembling a wild hamster's coloration. They are primarily nocturnal, meaning they are most active during the night and early morning hours, and spend their days sleeping in burrows or nesting material.

In captivity, Campbell's dwarf hamsters require a spacious enclosure with deep bedding for burrowing, a solid-surface exercise wheel, and a balanced diet consisting of commercial hamster food supplemented with small amounts of fresh vegetables and occasional protein sources. Providing a stimulating environment with tunnels and chew toys is also important for their well-being. Their lifespan typically ranges from 1.5 to 3 years.
