Cachingotsikoilla refers to a traditional Finnish winter game that is played on snow-covered surfaces, particularly on frozen lakes or large snowfields. The game is similar to curling but is played with a single stone, known as a *kachingot*, which is a small, flat, and elongated rock. The objective is to slide the stone as far as possible in a straight line while maintaining control over its direction.

The game is believed to have originated among Finnish fishermen and hunters who used the technique to transport goods or signals across frozen waterways. Over time, it evolved into a recreational activity, especially in rural areas during the winter months. Cachingotsikoilla is often played informally among friends or family, though some communities organize competitive events.

To play, participants select a smooth, flat stone and slide it across the snow using a stick or a specialized tool called a *kachingot-vasara* (kachingot hammer). The player aims to propel the stone as far as possible while keeping it aligned with a marked path.
