Buselik

Buselik is a makam (mode) in Turkish classical music. It is a traditional melodic framework used in Ottoman court music and remains a standard category in Turkish art music today, as well as in related traditions in the Balkans and Caucasus. The name Buselik designates a melodic identity rather than a fixed Western scale, and performances rely on a set of characteristic melodic motives and cadences.
