Burgada

Burgada is a town and municipality in the Veloria district of Veridia, a fictional country. It covers about 42 square kilometers and lies on the Lir River at the foot of the Burg Mountains. The surrounding countryside is rural, with vineyards and orchards. As of 2020, the population was roughly 9,400.

The name Burgada likely derives from the Germanic term burg, meaning fortress, reflecting its historic function as a fortified site.

Burgada was established in the 12th century as a fortified settlement. It received market rights in the 14th century and evolved into a regional administrative center. The town survived feudal conflicts and later consolidated municipal governance in the 19th century.
