Bryony
Bryony refers to a group of climbing plants belonging to the genus Bryonia, which is part of the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae. These plants are native to Europe, the Mediterranean region, and parts of Asia and North Africa. Bryonies are characterized by their vigorous, twining stems that can grow quite long, often scrambling over other vegetation or climbing walls. They typically have palmate leaves, meaning the leaves are divided into several distinct lobes. The flowers are generally small and inconspicuous, appearing in clusters. Following flowering, the plants produce berries, which can range in color from green to red or black, depending on the species.
Several species are commonly recognized as bryony, with Bryonia dioica, also known as white bryony, being one
