Bremsetrykk, a Norwegian term, translates to "brake pressure" in English. It refers to the force exerted by the brake system of a vehicle when the brakes are applied. This pressure is crucial for the effective functioning of the braking system, as it determines the stopping power and safety of the vehicle.

In hydraulic brake systems, which are common in most modern vehicles, bremsetrykk is generated by the brake fluid. When the brake pedal is pressed, it pushes a piston in the brake master cylinder, which in turn forces the brake fluid through the brake lines to the brake calipers or wheel cylinders.
