Bramidae
Bramidae is a family of perciform marine fish, commonly known as pomfrets. They are found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans, typically inhabiting tropical and subtropical waters. Pomfrets are characterized by their deep, compressed bodies, often with a silvery or dark coloration. They possess a single dorsal fin and an anal fin that are both long and low, extending nearly the entire length of the body. Their mouths are small and located ventrally.
Several species of Bramidae are commercially important, particularly in the Indian Ocean and parts of the Pacific.
