Bodennägel

Bodennägel is a German term that translates to "ground nails" or "soil nails." It refers to a form of ground improvement and reinforcement technique used in civil engineering. The primary purpose of bodennägel is to stabilize slopes, excavations, and other unstable soil masses.

The technique involves installing passive reinforcing elements, typically steel bars or tubes, into the ground at an angle. These bodennägel are driven or drilled into the soil, creating a composite mass that is stronger and more stable than the original ground.
