Boardplate
Boardplate is a term used in multiple industries to describe a flat, rigid plate that serves as a base, mounting surface, or protective panel. Because it is not a standardized term, its precise meaning varies by context. In electronics and equipment fabrication, a boardplate commonly refers to a base or backing plate that provides a stable plane for printed circuit boards or other components. It may be perforated or slotted to accept fasteners, and is often made from metal (such as steel or aluminum) or durable plastic.
More generally in construction, a boardplate can describe a backing plate used behind walls, panels, or flooring
Materials and construction: boards vary from sheet metal with machined holes to laminated wood or composite
Typical applications: electronics enclosures and workstations, cabinetry and wall cladding, machine bases, fixture plates in manufacturing,
