Birthpoint

Birthpoint is a term used in several domains to denote the origin location of a new entity within a system. It is not a widely standardized term in English, and its precise meaning depends on context. In video games and digital simulations, birthpoint most commonly refers to a spawn point—the location where a character, unit, or object first appears, or where it reappears after being defeated. Birthpoints may be fixed on a map or chosen from a set of candidate locations, and they can be static or dynamic (changing with time, map control, or game state) to balance play or narrative.

In data modeling and world-building, birthpoint can be used informally to indicate the origin point of an entity, such as the birthplace of a character or the origin in a procedural generation process. However, standard terminology in these fields typically uses birthplace, birth location, or origin, rather than birthpoint.
