Biromantic

Biromantic is a romantic orientation describing the experience of romantic attraction toward more than one gender. In practical terms, a biromantic person may feel romantic attraction toward men, women, and non-binary people, or toward two or more genders, depending on the individual. Biromantic is distinct from sexual orientation: a person can be biromantic while being heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, or any combination. Likewise, a person might be biromantic but have sexual attraction only to one gender, or none at all (asexual). Some people use "biromantic" to specify romance-only orientation, separate from sexual orientation.

The term is commonly used within LGBTQIA+ communities and resources to articulate a romantic preference that may or may not align with sexual orientation. It is sometimes used alongside labels such as bisexual, panromantic, or aromantic to describe a fuller picture of a person's attractions. Biromantic identities can include attraction to non-binary people as well as cisgender men and women. People may identify as biromantic and non-bisexual or biromantic asexual, among other combinations. As with all orientations, individual experiences vary, and labels may shift or be used differently across communities and over time.
