Biosonics
Biosonics refers to the study and application of sound and vibration in biological systems. This broad field encompasses the use of acoustic phenomena to understand, diagnose, and treat various biological conditions. In medicine, biosonics is most commonly associated with ultrasound, a technology that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of internal body structures or to break down tissue. Diagnostic ultrasound, for example, is a non-invasive technique used extensively in obstetrics, cardiology, and general imaging. Therapeutic ultrasound, on the other hand, employs focused ultrasound energy to heat tissues, promote healing, or even destroy abnormal cells, such as in cancer treatment.
Beyond medical imaging and therapy, biosonics also investigates the role of sound and vibration in natural
