BiCMOSAnordnungen refers to integrated circuits that combine bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) transistors on the same semiconductor chip. This hybrid technology leverages the advantages of both transistor types. CMOS technology is known for its low static power consumption, high integration density, and excellent noise immunity, making it ideal for digital logic circuits. BJTs, on the other hand, offer high speed, high current drive capability, and good analog performance, making them suitable for analog circuits and high-frequency applications.

By integrating these two technologies, BiCMOS circuits can achieve performance characteristics that are superior to either pure CMOS or pure bipolar implementations. This often results in faster switching speeds and improved output drive compared to standard CMOS, while maintaining lower power consumption than pure bipolar circuits. The fabrication process for BiCMOS is more complex than for standard CMOS, as it needs to accommodate the different manufacturing requirements of both transistor types.
